Part two of my debut podcast appearance is out today! In this episode, I talk with Dana Williams, host of the Rise & Reclaim after Divorce Podcast about starting over after my divorce.

Some of the highlights of this podcast include:

  • Breaking the worry cycle: Insights from chapter 9 of my book that shows how to stop worry from running your life.

  • Healing through Isaiah: I share which chapters of Isaiah brought me hope and strength during the hardest moments.

  • Escape and deception: A deep dive into chapter 12 and why temporary escapes only mask the pain.

  • Finding contentment as an active choice: I open up about how long it took to truly settle into peace—and what it required of my heart.

  • Chapter 15: Identity and Your True Name: I reflect on going back to my maiden name, reclaiming my purpose, and the power of starting over.

Have you ever wanted an escape? Maybe it’s daydreaming of white sandy beaches as the turquoise ocean waves crash around you, feeling like you don’t have a care in the world. The truth is that escaping—even to the most picturesque landscapes—won’t solve your problems, bring you lasting comfort, or satisfy your needs. You may temporarily escape from whatever troubles you, but eventually the plane lands back down, back to reality, and you have to shuffle off to baggage claim and pick up all your baggage once again. Maybe it’s even heavier this time because you bought souvenirs. When we treat our problems like this, our emotional and mental baggage can feel heavier after our escape. What you escape to temporarily can build up, making it worse when thoughts invade your mind. -Wings to Rise above Divorce
